Report from Olympia — March 10, 2015

Wednesday, March 11 is the deadline for both the Senate and House to pass their own bills – or they are off the table for the session. Budget-related bills may be considered until the end of the session. At this point in the session, several of the measures I introduced this year have survived the first two “cut off” deadlines and been passed with unanimous support. Also, on March 19, I will be joining other concerned Washington citizens at the “Ending Global Slavery” symposium in Olympia, which will focus on ending human trafficking. Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles of Seattle and I will be discussing anti-trafficking legislation in Washington.
