Fourth Legislative District residents are encouraged to participate in an upcoming telephone town hall hosted by their legislators: Sen. Mike Padden and Reps. Matt Shea and Bob McCaslin.
The hour-long community conversation will take place Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
On the evening of the telephone town hall, participants may call (509) 703-4657.
“Telephone town halls are a great way for us to stay in touch with the people we represent,” said Padden, R-Spokane Valley. “Hearing the opinions and ideas of our constituents is critical to our being effective lawmakers while in Olympia.”
Shea agreed.
“The Spokane Valley and Olympia are separated by more than 300 miles. This telephone town hall helps to bring everyone together across the Fourth District in a community conversation to discuss issues important to citizens back home,” said Shea, R-Spokane Valley.
“We save taxpayers’ money, and people can participate and provide input to us from the comfort of their own homes.”
A telephone town hall is much like an interactive radio program, during which listeners may ask questions, participate in instant polls or just listen to the conversation about issues that affect their district and the state.
“I am very much looking forward to hosting this telephone town hall with Rep. Shea and Sen. Padden,” said McCaslin, R-Spokane Valley. “It will provide us with a great opportunity to hear from the folks at home, which is something I always enjoy.”
The 4th Legislative District includes Colbert, Greenbluff, Millwood, Liberty Lake and Spokane Valley.
