Fourth Legislative District legislators, Sen. Mike Padden, Rep. Matt Shea and Rep. Bob McCaslin, all R-Spokane Valley, issued the following statement Wednesday regarding the school shooting at Freeman High School:

“Our hearts go out to the students, parents, teachers and families impacted by today’s tragic event.  We are praying for peace and healing for the entire community. 

“We commend the school district for following the protocols they have in place, and are extremely grateful for the first responders who reacted quickly as the situation unfolded to prevent further tragedy. 

“Our continual thoughts and prayers are with the Freeman Scotties family.”
